Continuous, Reliable and Affordable Solar Energy Solutions

Its never been a better time than now to take actionable steps towards a greener future. Advancements in solar energy technology have made accessing clean, reliable energy easier and more affordable than ever before, allowing you to save money, care for the environment, and become energy independent. Endurance Electric will work with you to design an energy system that fits your budget, lifestyle, and needs. From grid tie systems for your home and business, to remote energy systems, to agriculture systems and everything in between, we have you covered.

Why Go Solar?

Reduce Your Energy Bills

In BC, the amount of money you spend on power depends on your energy consumption. Why not take advantage of free energy and put it to work for you by reducing your monthly energy bill!

Save The Planet

Environmental conservation is on people’s minds these days, and harnessing passive energy from the sun utilizing solar panels is an easy way to reduce one’s environmental footprint. Who said you had to wear a cape to save the planet? Green Energy is your super power!

Easy on your Wallet

While energy prices are continuing to increase, the cost of solar is continuously falling. Advances in technology and production are making solar energy even more affordable. The typical solar panel has a 25-year warranty and your average return on investment is 12 years. Think of what you could do with 13 to 18 years of free power, not to mention how much money you would save! Early retirement anyone?

Control your Energy

Ever wonder what it’s like to be oblivious that your friends and neighbours are experiencing a power outage and you are continuing your daily routine as normal? When you have an off-grid or hybrid solar energy system, if and when the power grid goes down, it doesn’t affect you because you have ALL THE POWER!

Our Process

Meet & Greet

How else can we determine your needs than by sitting down for great conversation.  This is your chance to ask us questions and broaden your knowledge on how solar can work for you, and it gives us a chance to get to know you, your budget, and your current energy needs. Knowledge is power!

Energy Analysis

This might sound technical, and it is to a certain point, but analyzing your home lifestyle energy consumption and preforming a site evaluation, helps us design the perfect system sized just for you.

Design & Approval

Now that we have a good idea of what you want, we can design an energy system utilizing the latest technology, that fits your needs.

Schedule & Install

Once we have your approval, it’s time to schedule your solar install. Watching your system come together is an exciting step in realizing your solar energy dreams.

Commission the System & Teaching

Once the system is installed and all the inspections have passed, its time to turn on your new Solar Energy System and learn all about it.  We teach you how all the parts and pieces work together, ensuring you have the knowledge to maintain your system for years to come.

Grid Tied Solar Systems

Investing in your home energy is banking for your future. There are two ways you can offset your energy and reduce your monthly bills. By installing a Grid Tied Solar System or Grid Tied Solar Hybrid System, you are harnessing the power of the sun and becoming energy independent. Both systems can be sized based on your energy needs, but there is one key difference between them.

Grid Tied Solar System
A grid tied solar system is designed to tie into the existing energy grid. Any energy you produce is used by you, and any excess energy is fed into the grid, which is monitored through BC Hydro’s Net Metering System. If you generate more energy than you consume, your account is credited. Who doesn’t want to bank sunshine?

Grid Tied Solar Hybrid System
A grid tied solar hybrid system operates the same way as a grid tied solar system, except it has the option of a battery back up. When the energy grid fails, a regular grid tied system is designed to shut down as well, leaving you in the dark. The work around is installing a hybrid system. This system relies on a battery bank that powers your essential loads when the grid fails.

Net Metering
What is Net Metering? Net metering is a program through BC Hydro for people who generate their own power. When you produce excess power you sell it to BC Hydro; when you don’t produce enough to cover your own electricity needs, you purchase from BC Hydro.

Remote Solar Systems

Living in the middle of nowhere doesn’t mean you have to be cut off from basic necessities like electricity. Off-grid energy systems are hybrid systems that are designed for remote locations. They utilize energy from multiple sources, such as solar and diesel generator and combines it into a single, continuous power grid. The result is reliable power on demand.

The main parts to an Off-Grid Hybrid System are Energy Generation, Energy Storage, Delivery, Control, & Monitoring.

Energy Generation
The sun’s energy is your main source of power, and is harnessed through solar panels in an array, either mounted on your roof or on a pole. A diesel generator is your secondary power source which is automatically controlled as a slave to your main system and compensates for any energy deficits.

Energy Storage
To maintain your energy independence, the power you generate is stored in battery banks for future use. Battery technology has come a long way, and there are many options available to you. The most widely used are Flooded Lead Acid (FLA) Batteries or Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Batteries.

Delivery, Control, & Monitoring
In order to maximize the efficiency of power generation, distribution, and storage you will need an inverter and charge controller. An inverter will convert DC energy produced by your array into AC energy that will power the loads in your system. A charge controller regulates the amount of charge going into the batteries. Both pieces of equipment have digital outputs which give you the ability to monitor the health of your system.
